# Hats and shirts: order spec

Send this page and the matching files from `merch/print-files/` to your printer or embroiderer.
Every print file comes as **SVG, PDF and EPS** (vector, so any size prints sharp) plus a
3000 px transparent PNG for online order forms. Send the PDF or EPS unless the vendor asks for
something else. The `mockups/` folder has placement proofs you can attach so the vendor can see
the intended layout.

> **Ask for a proof before the run.** For embroidery, ask for a stitch proof or a photographed
> sew-out, especially to check the stone/tan thread and the thin gap between the two halves of
> each "C" in the monogram.

## Colors to give the vendor

| Brand color | Hex | Use on merch | Pantone (starting point) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pine | `#182E25` | Thread or ink on light garments; caps and tees | PMS 5535 C |
| Stone | `#B7A58B` | The "L" in the monogram; accent lines | PMS 7530 C |
| Limestone (cream) | `#F2EFE6` | Thread or ink on dark garments (use cream rather than stark white) | off-white / natural |
| Forest | `#304B3B` | Garment color | n/a |

The hex values are the master colors. The Pantone references are close starting points, not
official matches, so ask the vendor to match against their swatch book or thread card. Tan
thread varies a lot between brands, so approve it from a physical sample.

## Hats

| | Dark cap (pine / dark green / black) | Khaki or tan cap |
|---|---|---|
| **Front** | `hat-front-monogram-reverse`: 3 colors (cream C's, stone L) | `hat-front-monogram-pine`: 1 color, pine |
| **Back (optional)** | `hat-back-wordmark-reverse` | `hat-back-wordmark-pine` |

- **Front:** 4 in wide × 1.5 in tall, centered on the front panels, bottom edge about 0.5 in above the brim.
Flat embroidery works well. 3D puff also suits the blocky monogram if you want it.
- **Back:** 3.5 in wide, centered above the closure. These are the production-weight files, so the
"L A N D C O." line is thick enough to stitch. If the embroiderer still finds it too fine,
drop the back logo rather than altering it.
- On khaki, the stone "L" blends into the fabric, which is why the khaki front is one-color pine.
- Embroidery needs a **stitch file** (DST/EMB) that the embroiderer makes ("digitizes") from the
vector PDF. This is a normal one-time setup fee; keep the file they give you for reorders.
- Suggested caps: a structured mid-profile 6-panel or trucker cap (Richardson 112 or similar)
in dark green, loden, black or khaki, with a snapback closure.

## Shirts

| | Dark tee (forest, pine, dark heather) | Light tee (natural, cream, sand) |
|---|---|---|
| **Left chest** | `shirt-left-chest-stacked-reverse` | `shirt-left-chest-stacked-color` |
| **Back, slogan** | `shirt-back-slogan-reverse` | `shirt-back-slogan-color` |
| **Back, crew (phone + web)** | `shirt-back-crew-reverse` | `shirt-back-crew-color` |

- **Left chest:** 3.75 in wide, centered about 4 in left of the center line (wearer's left),
top edge about 3 in below the shoulder seam. Uses the production-weight stacked logo.
- **Back:** 11 in wide (10 in for small and youth sizes), top edge 3 in below the collar.
- **Screen print, full color:** 3 inks on dark tees (cream, stone, plus an underbase) and
2 inks on light tees (pine, stone).
- **Cheaper single-color option:** use `-white` files on dark tees or `-pine` files on light tees.
- **DTF / DTG printing:** use the 3000 px PNGs or the PDFs; any number of colors costs the same.
- **Embroidered polos and work shirts:** left-chest stacked logo at 3.75 in or larger, or the
monogram alone at 3 in or larger.

## Equipment and truck doors

`equipment-decal-*`: primary logo above the phone number and website.
- **Cut vinyl** (single color, most durable): `-white` on dark paint, `-pine` on light paint.
- **Printed vinyl** (full color): `-reverse` on dark paint, `-color` on light paint.
- Typical size: 18–24 in wide on a truck door, 24–36 in wide on a mulcher or track loader cab.
